Hebei Medical University

Hebei Medical University is located in Shijiazhuang city, the capital of Hebei province. It is one of the provincial key universities with a history of over one hundred years and outstanding educational tradition, and with its predecessor Beiyang Medical School established by the government of Qing Dynasty in 1894. It is one of the oldest public universities in modern China. In this university, there held the first basketball match of China, founded the first medical journal “Renshen Medicine”, edited the first Human systematic anatomy in China, discovered and named the acute motor axonal neuropathy in the world firstly.

Now the university covers such main subjects as Clinical Medicine, Clinical Discipline of Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine，Preventive Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Biology, etc. There are 14 majors of undergraduate, 68 authorized postgraduate subjects and 42 authorized doctoral subjects. Postdoctoral research stations have been built for four main subjects including Biology, Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine and Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. The Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine is the national key discipline.

Among the faculty members, there are 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 39 experts who enjoy the state council special allowance, 31 province outstanding experts, 99 middle-aged and young experts with outstanding contribution to the national and provincial science and technology management.4 faculties were rated as national excellent teachers. Hebei Medical University owns 4 first-class ternary general hospitals, 1 first-class ternary specialized hospital, 8100 sickbeds and 17 affiliated hospitals. In addition, there are 8 libraries, 8 provincial research institutes and 9 kinds of academic publications edited and published by the university.

At present, there are over 400 foreign students doing their bachelor, master and doctor’s degrees in this university.
